Welcome back to school for 2010-2011 and to 5th grade. My name is Jennifer Slone. I have been teaching for about 15 years in fourth and fifth grades. I live in Black Mountain. I am married and have two children. We are big TARHEEL fans! We also enjoy watching our two children play soccer and basketball.
We have a great class this year. Our class is studying landforms and making word card rings in science. In math we are working on geometry and test taking skills. For reading, we are reading many different stories and working on our questioning skills. We also write in our journals everyday about the books we read. Spelling lists go home on Mondays and we take tests on Fridays.
Some of our favorite things in our class are our graphing question of the day and our classroom reward bingo. It makes doing homework a little better.:)
